A Rundown on Vape Etiquette

It’s great to share the vaping experience and discover new techniques, flavors or devices that you can add to your collection. However, you must keep to the correct vaping etiquette so you stay on the straight and narrow, allowing even non-vapers to tolerate it. Here is all you need to know about vaping etiquette.

Public Vaping

Pay attention to your surroundings. Places like bars and restaurants will have their own vaping policies, such as dedicated outside areas. Look for signs at the front of the property for an indication that they tolerate vaping. If you’re unsure, ask a member of staff.

Finally, don’t vape in a confined public space, such as in a hotel lobby, a coffee shop or while shopping at the mall. Not only may this annoy other visitors and shoppers, but you’ll also probably be asked to take it outside anyway. This is always a surefire sign you’re breaking vaping etiquette.

Vaping At Work

Most workplaceswill have extended their smoking policies to include vaping. Heck, they may even encourage it if it gets you off those nasty cigarettes.

But with all privileges, don’t abuse it. Avoid distracting colleagues and be sensible about the time spent outside vaping. You don’t want your boss on your back and potentially taking away your ability to vape during work hours.

Public Transport Vaping Etiquette

This is a fairly simple enough rule. The vaping etiquette for vaping on public transport is: don’t. While there will likely be signs all over the vehicle, the clouds can become a nuisance for others. Anytime your vape has the potential to bother someone, then it is probably good vape etiquette to refrain.

Avoid vaping at the bus stop, the train station and the airport too – unless they have dedicated vaping areas, in which, by all means, go ahead.

Be Polite With Vape Clouds

While they look awesome, those that don’t vape may not appreciate your vape tricks and clouds so think about your surroundings. Leave them enough space so that clouds don’t blow into their faces. At the end of the day, it’s just being polite.

In the event that your clouds do get in the way, just apologise and move a little further away. This will prevent any unnecessary conflicts.

Vaping On Vacation

First things first, look into that country’s smoking and vaping laws. There are places that actually make it illegal to vape, such as Singapore, so do your research. You don’t want to get into any trouble with foreign law enforcement.

Again, if you have any doubts while you’re on vacation, just ask your guide, hotel manager, etc. It’s better to be safe than sorry in this circumstance.

Stealth Vaping

While it can be tempting to stealth vape, the correct vaping etiquette is to just not do it. Put it back in your pocket and wait until you are in an environment that allows it.

As vaping becomes more and more attractive, correct vaping etiquette ensures that relationships improve with non-vapers, leading to an increased tolerance all around. Communication is key to ensuring a great vaping experience so if you’re ever unsure about what you can and cannot do, don’t be afraid to ask.
